Hey folks Gatack here -

This has been a good year for Superman Collectibles thanks to the movie Superman Returns. We're fortunate that
several international companies have done Superman. Among the items that were created this year were a few
Superman 1/6 scale figures. DC Direct, Hot Toys and Medicom have done figures (yes there is the "Ken" Mattel figure
but I wouldn't in all honesty compare it to these). There has been lots of debate over which is the best one. And here to
add more fuel to the fire is this page.

I've read many things on many forums (some fair arguments and some not so fair). Here I will state a brief opinion on
each one. I personally don't have a favorite, however there are some dolls I prefer over others. Anyway, lets get
crackin'.

  • DC Direct: It's big, quite cheap but overall a poor quality offering. Stitching, clothing material and articulation are
    flatly not up to par. See images.

  • Hot Toys: A great default Superman Returns figure. Excellent quality clothing and articulation. It represents the
    movie version the best out of the three dolls presented here.

  • Medicom: A very dynamic and stylized version of the Superman Returns Superman. Excellent quality clothing
    and articulation make up for lack of detail. And quite frankly is the funnest to play with.

I hope you will enjoy this "comparison gallery". I'm sure some agree with some of my views and some won't. Just
remember, in the very end what is truly the "best" is all up to the eye of the beholder.
