MEDICOM
METAL GEAR SOLID 4
SPIDER-MAN 3
BOBA FETT
MARVEL
Star Wars- Medicom's Boba Fett 1/6 looks great in person as well and I think it will
be hard to top it in this format. The detail, outfit, proportions are all unrivaled at this
moment and have not been produced in this standard yet by any other company. It
is quite simply the Best articulated Boba Fett ever. There was also the Royal
Guard VCD which was a cute addition to the VCD line.
The appearance of the Spider-man 3 1/6 and VCDs was great also as many
people were looking forward to checking out these figures in person. The SM3
1/6 figures displayed at SS's booth still had a bit of a baggy look and doesn't look
to be the same prototypes used in Japanese ads. I am guessing the final
releases will resemble the ones we see in the Japanese ads, tighter, more form
fitting outfits. I was able to play with the SM3 figures a bit and the outfits feel
really nice. The material used is very high quality and gives off a more realistic
feel that you would expect from a movie version. It's thick but moves well with the
301 body and doesn't restrict it. I can only imagine how awesome they would be
if the ones I played with were the final versions with the corrected tightness of the
costumes. I am definitely looking forward to owning these!

The SM3 VCDs were on display as well, as one would expect these SD vinyl
figures are gonna be some of the best SM3 product coming out this year. Any
fan of Stylish Vinyl and Spider-Man should not miss out on these!
Marvel- The continuation of Medicom's Marvel comic 1/6 line was great news for
fans. Blade looks to be the same as the DVD exclusive version except for a new
head. The Magneto looks much nicer in person altho I would wish that the purple
parts on him were made of a Pleather material instead of the spandexy material. I
think it would match the Chrome Purple parts better. Punisher was ok, I would have
preferred a more modern version rather than the classic version they decided to
go with. The Venom Punisher was ok also, altho I feel Medicom did him because
he was easy to do. I apologize for the blurriness on some of the marvel pics. It
was a very crowded booth and I kinda shot them in a hurry. I also apologize for the
lack of Punisher pics, I just totally forgot about him...  Wont make that mistake next
time! Gomen! Oh yeah Ghost Rider was pretty cool too -_^
MGS4- These 2 figures were pretty much my motivation to go to the Sideshow
Booth. I got the chance to see Snake this past summer at SDCC but the one on
display there was at an earlier stage of being a prototype. The one on display at
Toy Fair was closer to what a production piece would be. It was actually a clothed
doll and not a statue with clothes on top. From what I saw I will say that I am quite
pleased with the result so far. The Octocamo suit needs to be darker as it seems
that Kojima has decided that his suit is more a Grey black color now than the blue
that was shown in early trailers. The Octocamo suit used for Snake is quite the
achievement by Medicom which looks like it's a total 1/6 scale reproduction. The
result is very similar to the 1/6 Prop suits that the BM Hibiki and Kabuto figures
have. I am also very curious of the accessories that Snake will include. It of course
would be Ideal if he included his little Robot drone and 2 additional Heads, the
Younger Snake Head seen in the most recent trailer and the Octocamo Masked
Head with Solid Eye.

Raiden is no exception. Like Snake He pretty much has the same Prop Suit type
material used for his exoskeleton and looks like he jumped right out of the MGS4
trailer. The Prototype on display is the first time Raiden has ever been shown to
the public, So Toy Fair was pretty Much RAH Raiden's world premiere. Raiden is
an early Prototype similar to the Snake we've seen at SDCC. He's pretty much a
statue, a static representation of the actual design of the figure. I will say that if
Raiden retains even 90% of how the prototype looks in terms of fit and proportion
based on the proto shown he'll be one of the finest 1/6 scale figures ever
produced. The prototype on display was quite impressive. Even though he's a
static mock up, you can really get an idea of what the final product will be. The
detail on the Exoskeleton and his head were very impressive. I am very curious if
they will place a clear Mouthpiece on him to give the illusion of the x-ray effect his
mouthpiece has in the trailers.  Also I apologize for the crooked left eyepiece, one
of the SS guys actually broke it in front of me when they were fiddling around with
him filming some Toy Fair Coverage video (SAD!) I regret that I didn't have the
chance to snap a shot of his facemask closed before he broke the left eyepiece.
Gomen!

Medicom didn't have a booth at this year's toy fair but they certainly had a
presence, especially at Sideshow's booth. Here's a lowdown on all the new items
shown...
